Last week in our Dad Bod Health Playbook Series we covered the 1st core pillar of health which is sleep.
To review, the 4 core pillars of health are sleep, stress management, nutrition and fitness.
Mindset is obviously very important as well but that’s in all areas of life.
If you missed part 1 and part 2 you should go back and check those out.
Today we are covering stress management.
The MOST important aspect of stress management is consistency.
But you probably already knew that right?
Anything that has to do with health requires consistency and stress management is no different.
Most guys tend to keep their stress inside and will even try and ignore it which can become a real problem.
Stress kills . . . literally.
The number one leading cause of death in the United States is heart disease.
And stress is a major contributing factor to heart disease along with sugar, inflammation and oxidative stress among other factors.
When men aren’t adequately managing their stress they tend to have elevated levels of cortisol which is a fat-storing hormone.
This can lead to the inability to lose weight and also has a trickle-down effect on the rest of your health.
You most likely already know what it feels like to be stressed out all the time.
So what can you do?
There are actually lots of options but again they MUST be consistent in order for you to see actual results.
Here are some options to consider with some suggestions:
1. Daily Gratitude Journal – I use an app called Evernote and when you join The MAN UP Community you’ll have access to a training video walking you through the exact process.
2. Daily Meditation – You can check out the Calm App or Headspace to get started. When you join The MAN UP Community you’ll have several resources to help you get started.
3. Walks in nature
4. Exercise – (home workouts or gym workouts) which are all found inside the Dad Bod Health Fitness App which is included with your MAN UP Community subscription.
5. More Sex – obviously you have to have a consenting partner for this one 🤣
This list certainly isn’t all inclusive but you can find a couple that work well for your life and dial them in consistently.
Just know that when you’re getting good quality sleep and managing your stress consistently, your efforts with nutrition and fitness will pay off significantly more.
I know I have mentioned The MAN UP Community a few times because of all the amazing benefits but I wanted to let you know this is the LAST WEEK for the 90 day FREE trial.
It’s gone at the end of the month.
